Here's a delicious recipe for Cherry and Wine Cake ๐๐ท
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Guidelines:
- Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). A 9-inch round cake pan can be lined with parchment paper or greased and floured.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Put aside.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar in a sizable mixing basin until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- One egg at a time, beat in, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the red wine and the dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually. Add the dry ingredients last, whisking just until incorporated. Take cautious not to blend too much.
- Once the cherries are properly scattered throughout the batter, gently fold them in.
- Transfer the mixture into the ready-made cake pan and distribute it uniformly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, in a preheated oven.
- After letting the cake set in the pan for ten minutes, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
- If desired, dust the cake's top with powdered sugar after it has cooled.
- Enjoy the cherry and wine cake after slicing and serving it!
Note: The same red wine used in the recipe goes nicely with this cake. Enjoy sensibly!
