Here's a delicious recipe for a classic cherry cake:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups pitted cherries, fresh or frozen (if using frozen, thaw and drain excess liquid)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Guidelines:
- Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). For easier removal, line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper or grease and flour it.
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Put aside.
- Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing basin until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- One egg at a time, beat in until thoroughly combined. Stir in the vanilla essence after that.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients gradually, starting and finishing with the dry ingredients and alternating with the milk. Take care not to overmix; only mix until barely mixed.
- Using a spatula, gently mix the pitted cherries into the batter until they are uniformly distributed.
- Transfer the mixture into the ready-made cake pan and distribute it uniformly.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, in a preheated oven.
- After letting the cake set in the pan for ten or so minutes, turn it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
- If desired, dust the cake's top with powdered sugar after it has cooled.
Enjoy the cherry cake after slicing and serving it!
Whether it is a major celebration or a laid-back family get-together, this cherry cake is ideal for every event. The explosion of luscious cherries gives this cake a delicious flavor that is simply enticing.
