Orange Cake 🥞

Here's a simple recipe for an orange cake:

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Guidelines:

  1. Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). A 9-inch round cake pan can be lined with parchment paper or greased and floured.
  2. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar in a sizable mixing basin until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. One egg at a time, add them, beating thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Add the orange zest and freshly squeezed juice and mix until thoroughly blended.
  5. Sift the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate dish.
  6. Mixing until just incorporated, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones. Take cautious not to blend too much.
  7. After the cake pan is ready, pour the batter into it and distribute it evenly.
  8. A toothpick placed into the center of the cake should come out clean after 25 to 30 minutes of baking in a preheated oven.
  9. After taking the cake out of the oven, allow it to cool for ten minutes or so in the pan. After that, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
  10. If desired, dust the cake with powdered sugar once it has cooled.
  11. Cut into slices and serve your tasty orange cake from scratch!
